Pier protection field Yokohama Type Pneumatic Large Ship Marine
Rubber Fenders with Reasonable Factory Price
Floating Ship Yokohama Type Marine Pneumatic Rubber Fenders are
made of synthetic-cord-reinforced rubber sheets with compressed air
inside to enable them to float on water and function as shock
absorbers between ships (ship-to-ship) or between ships and
berthing structures.

Note: The floating ship pneumatic rubber fenders have sometimes
been colloquially referred to as "Yokohama Fenders" or "Yokohama
type fenders" - ISO 17357:2014 Ships and marine technology --
Floating Pneumatic Rubber Fenders
Advantages of Yokohama Pneumatic Rubber Fenders
- Lightweight design allows for easy handling and installation with
guy-ropes or guy-chains
- Resists shearing force and maintains energy absorption under
inclined compression up to 15 degrees
- Provides low and comparatively even hull pressure
- Constructed with multiple synthetic-cord layers and tough
abrasion-resistant rubber for consistent performance in rough
conditions
- Minimizes maintenance costs and damage risk
- Self-buoyant design ensures extremely long service life

Yokohama Type Pneumatic Rubber Fenders Construction
Pneumatic rubber marine fenders consist of outer rubber,
reinforcement synthetic-tire-cord layer, and inner rubber,
vulcanized firmly. Fenders of diameter 2500mm and larger are
equipped with safety valves to release excess internal pressure
when over-compressed. The properties requirements of outer and
inner rubber material comply with ISO 17357:2002.
Outer Rubber
The outer rubber protects the cord layers and inner rubber from
abrasion and external forces. This rubber compound has sufficient
tensile and tear resistance strength to withstand anticipated
weather conditions and severe usage.
Tire Cord Layers
The reinforcement synthetic-tire-cord layer is strong enough to
maintain the internal air pressure of the fender.
Inner Rubber
The inner rubber layer seals the pressurized air inside the fender.

Pneumatic Fenders Classification
Our pneumatic rubber fender’s internal pressure, endurable
pressure, and safety-valve setting pressure are fully compliant
with ISO 17357.
Fender Pressure Rating
There are two initial pressure ratings for our Pneumatic Rubber
Fenders.
■ Pneumatic 50 (P50, Initial internal pressure 50kPa)
■ Pneumatic 80 (P80, Initial internal pressure 80kPa)
Pneumatic Fender Type
There are two common types our Pneumatic Rubber Fenders.
■ Type I — Net Type Covered with a chain net, wire net, or fiber
net for small size fenders
■ Type II — Sling Type This type of fender has a lifting device on
each end, which shall be connected with a guy chain or guy-rope.
Without a protection net, easy to handle with lightweight)
Yokohama Type Pneumatic Rubber Fenders Application
Floating pneumatic marine ship rubber fenders serve as protective
medium for:
- Ship-to-ship operations (STS)
- Ship-to-quay (STQ)
- Ship-to-berthing (STB)
Suitable for various vessels including:
- Tankers, Gas Carriers and Bulk Cargo Ships
- Fast ferries and aluminum hulled vessels
- Temporary or permanent installations
- Rapid response and emergency rendering
- Stand-off fenders to realign ships with shore facilities
Floating Pneumatic Rubber Fender Performance
Performance is specified in terms of Guaranteed Energy Absorption
(GEA), Reaction Force at GEA deflection, and Hull Pressure at GEA
deflection.
